So I'm back home already.
That's the good news. Now for the less good news.
They didn't do *ANYTHING*. I mean, they took my blood pressure and temp, and they drew some blood and ran some tests, but they didn't do anything I haven't had done in the past ten days.
They did recommend maronil, a medication from the tricyclic antidepressant group - which is the same group as the pamelor that Ladyhawke mentioned in my last post's comments. The less nifty part of that is that there's no guarantee it'll work, and it will take at least a week before I could possibly feel any improvement.
I went back to my doctor this evening (after spending 6 hours in the E.R. at Ein Kerem, most of which were spent waiting for the neurologist.) and he is looking into finding me a good neurologist that I can see on my health plan. Unfortunately, it'll probably be someone in Jerusalem, but at least it'll be someone... The neuro here in Modiin is a disaster!!!!
So in the meantime, I'm back on the paracetamol/codeine/caffeine medication and waiting again for the doctor to call...
Prayers are really welcome.

wow thats really something....
praying for you.
Glad you are home!
It must have been really hard being away from Kinneret the whole day... I'm sorry they can't find something that gives relief - it just shows that modern medicine still has a long way to go.
Hey dear,
I do hope you get your pain eliminated. And you can visit my blog too, and judge if my problems are worse or better than yours (even that my blog is in Hebrew, heaven forbid!)

Don't worry..... your Dad has something up his sleeve.
I got your link off of Uncensored, and wanted to offer my support for your headaches. I get them as well, and no drugs ever seem to help. Most drugs will just push back the headache to a later date...rebound headaches they call them.
We've done the whole hormone, caffeine, etc. route. The thing that seems to help me best...especially since I have a little one now too....is head massages.
We have an inexpensive massager, maybe 30 bucks US. It's a plastic stick, with a thick square on the end. Each of the four sides of the square is a different texture, but what helps me is the padded top.
When the top of my head feels as if it's going to explode, when I wish I could force myself to vomit so the pain would subside, the massager can help the pain subside a bit.
It's best if you can talk someone else into massaging your scalp, but even if you have to hold it yourself it might help.
I'm under the impression that migraines are caused by blood vessels that are too constricted, or ones that are expanded too much. That's why caffeine can help some migraines. It can also make some migraines worse! It depends on which way your blood vessels are at the time. That being said, meds with caffeine in them may be just making your headaches worse.
Anyhow, I guess the massaging of my scalp must do something right to those blood vessels.
It's worth a shot. Hope you feel better and get some relief soon.
