DUCK!

Today, Kinneret said her first word, Duck!
I was singing her the Waddles song (my own composition) and she said duh and dut and several other sounds that sounded like she was trying to say duck!

Yay for Kinneret!

Not barvaz? I think there's a really cute Shalom Sesame song about barvazim.

Do you know "5 little ducks went out one day...over the hills and far away...mother duck said quack quack quack...and 4 little ducks came waddling back."

The Hebrew version is "hamisha barvazim, yatzu l'tayel..."

Nope. In an effort not to teach her our mistakes, we speak to her exclusively in English.

(sometimes I sing her Hebrew songs)

It sounded exactly like duck to me (although it was over the telephone...)

She's a cutie :-)

Hooray for Kinneret - and hooray for Waddles! Keep Waddles around, he sounds useful.

My daughter's first word was Ducky! And then she said it in Russian - Udka. Parallel lives . . . .

Go Kinneret!!

Thanks for your comment in my blog. I'm eagerly awaiting the day that my babies can feed themselves, but they're not there yet. I can't just cut things up tiny for them and let them go at it. They can eat a cracker by themselves, but anything smaller than that, and they don't have the coordination to get it to their mouths yet. Soon...

They are 8 months old, but since they were 2 months premature, they are really only like 6 month olds, so really, they're only just at the beginning stages of solid foods.

Sorry for hijacking your blog, but I couldn't find your email address in my Outlook file.
